Mercedes Mone has yet to appear in any wrestling company since her May 2023 injury in NJPW STRONG Resurgence. However, her fate has practically been confirmed and All Elite Wrestling has already planned when she will appear for the first time in the company’s programming as part of the roster officially. And it most likely will be during the AEW Big Business event in Boston on March 13.
However, before she makes her much-awaited debut for the company, the Boss shared a tweet on her X account that hints at her move to AEW while to some it seemed like a subtle jab at her past with the WWE.

“The don’t look back”, could be a reference toward not looking back or thinking of the WWE. Reports had suggested that WWE did enter negotiations with Sasha Banks. However, they could not come to mutual terms. The company described the dialogue between Mone and the WWE as “friendly, but without progress” between the two parties, which is why they would have opted to step aside when bidding for their services for a comeback.
And according to the latest report from Fightful Select, it has confirmed that Mercedes Mone has been in the payment round of Tony Khan’s company since the beginning of 2024, just a few weeks after having finished her talks for a return to WWE. It also said that the idea for Big Business came several weeks in advance. Originally, Tony Khan was supposed to announce the hiring of ‘the Boss’ directly. However, plans changed before the broadcasts and the company opted to confirm the date at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, the city where she began her professional wrestling career.

This allowed the resuming of conversations with All Elite Wrestling. What do you think? Is Sasha Banks making the right move by joining AEW? Let us know in the comments.
