The latest episode of “Wrestling Observer Radio” claims that Adam Cole of AEW is apparently struggling with a “real bad” injury that may have a profound impact on his professional career.

Cole gained notoriety after joining AEW and soon after establishing his reputation in the WWE and indie circuits. Nevertheless, it has been well over three months since Cole has competed after defeating Samoa Joe at Double or Nothing. Following that, it was revealed that Cole had suffered a concussion.

At first, it didn’t appear that he would be absent for very long; in fact, he reported in July that his progress and recovery were on track. But until now, he hasn’t made an appearance in the ring. Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer in his report suggested that his future is questionable.
In his words, “I mean, it’s a concussion, it’s a bad concussion, real bad concussion. But I have not heard, I don’t know. He’ll be back when he’s cleared. It could be tomorrow and it could be never, you know what I mean? [H/T: WrestlePurists]” The new revelations are really scary, and the Meltzer speculations just increase Cole‘s and AEW followers’ concern.

Adam Cole certainly has a lot of potential and is incredibly skillful, as evidenced by the fact that, no matter where he went, he won the championship. He hasn’t claimed the AEW championship, but he was surely going to win. Notably, Cole has the record for holding the longest NXT title reign.

Nevertheless, fans will be quite optimistic about his comeback and his subsequent title charge. However, for that, he needs medical clearance. So it would be interesting to see whether Cole secures a medical clearance to compete in the upcoming Full Gear pay-per-view in November, which from the report is highly unlikely.
