Fuego Del Sol worked in AEW from 2020 to 2023. During this time, he gained a minor following thanks to the Lucha-style wrestling. He never feuded with Punk but had the chance to work with him behind the scenes. He would leave AEW on June 22, 2023.
Talking on his YouTube channel, he would say, “He always made time for me, he was always kind to me. I don’t know how everybody else feels about Punk.” Sol said he never let other people’s opinions affect how he felt about someone. Despite all the negativity with Punk, he only considered how Punk treated him and him alone.
He said, “He was good to me, if you’re good to me, I’ll forever be great to you – big thanks to CM Punk.” He recalled when he suffered a foot injury in AEW, Punk had suffered something similar. Punk would call Sol to advise him on returning from an injury. These small instances are what made Sol feel like Punk was really good to him.
Nevertheless, Sol’s experience doesn’t line up with the general notion of Punk during his time in AEW.

CM Punk’s reputation with AEW
Since AEW’s All In at Wembley Stadium on August 27, 2023, Punk gained a negative reputation in AEW. Reports indicated that there was a backstage altercation between Punk and Jack Perry. This altercation would result in Punk being terminated from AEW. However, this would not stop the allegations against Punk.
As days went by, more and more allegations would come out against Punk. Many began blaming Punk for the management issues in AEW. Former WWE manager Eric Bischoff would blame Khan for letting these background instances take over the main show. Now, WWE fans are hopeful Punk will return to the WWE. Despite online claims being in his favor, many believe that would not be possible.
