In September 2022, post-All Out media scrum, CM Punk took several digs at The Elite. This caused a real-life brawl between them, that led both parties to get suspended indefinitely. The Elite returned to action, but Punk’s future in AEW loomed darker with each passing week.
This year in April, social media platforms broke out with the news of his return in June. Rumors suggested he would make his return to the Dynamite episode, but later, the fans found out that he would return to the launch episode of a new weekly show called Collision.
Tony Khan has been making grand preparations for the new show debut. However, ticket sales have not witnessed a boost even after the AEW President confirmed Punk’s return on May 31 Dynamite.

AEW Collision struggling to sell Collision tickets
Dave Meltzer from Wrestling News Observer recently revealed that AEW’s new weekly show is doing poorly in terms of ticket sales. The first show will be in Punk’s hometown, Chicago. Therefore, the ticket sales for the debut show are good. But the rest of the shows lined up for the next couple of weeks outside Chicago haven’t made any significant sales so far.
He said, “And Punk has been moving tickets in Chicago, but not in the other places, not in Toronto, which is not a good sign because Toronto is one of the greatest markets in North America. They sold out Forbidden Door in a snap of the fingers and then for the Collision show, they’re still under 2000 tickets in the Scotiabank Arena.”
After their debut show in Chicago, AEW will travel to Canada to hold a couple of shows in the country. The destinations for the shows are Toronto, Hamilton, Regina, and Calgary. Meltzer also noted that Khan didn’t make a wise decision while deciding the destinations for the shows.

Meltzer mentioned AEW might struggle the most while moving ticket sales in Canada, especially Hamilton and Regina. He stated that people in Regina usually opt to go sightseeing and picnicking, as they rarely get to see pleasant weather.
This could become a major obstacle in boosting AEW Collision sales in the Canadian region. Plus, AEW not making proper announcements about Collision airing in Canada can also act as a significant factor in hindering ticket sales. The Jacksonville-based company is really struggling to push its new project to success, but so far in vain.
