Tony Khan announced CM Punk’s return to AEW on its new show Collision with a view to boosting ticket sales. But that didn’t happen as AEW is struggling to sell tickets even though CM Punk will return at United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Moreover, unlike AEW Rampage, the ‘Best in the World’s’ appearance on AEW Collision hasn’t got Khan any big deals for telecasting the show.

When Punk returned in August 2021, the world saw his AEW debut and the company got several TV deals worldwide. However, the same magic hasn’t been seen in AEW again as a $400 million TV network isn’t interested in telecasting the show.

Recently, Dave Meltzer talked about the AEW Collision’s TV deals on his Wrestling Observer Radio. He noted TSN is not interested in telecasting the new two-hour AEW show worldwide.

Everyone in the wrestling world is aware Khan has a good relationship with TNT. Hence, he can telecast Collisions in the United States without any issues. However, telecasting the show worldwide is a problem even if the former AEW World Champion will be exclusively on Saturday nights.

Meltzer said, “When Rampage started with CM Punk, it did draw, but [TSN] didn’t keep the show. I would have expected, if nothing else, June 17th as a one-time special, and they didn’t even greenlight that, so you know, and again.”

He added, “We don’t know what’s going on in the UK other than AEW plus on Fite, that’s the way to go. They’re adding Collision, and I don’t know if there’s gonna be a price increase, two hours more a week commercial-free.”

It is very unlikely that the ‘Voice of the Voiceless’ inclusion on the Collision roster isn’t able to draw for AEW. In 2021, a mere rumor of Punk making an AEW debut had shaken the entire wrestling world and filled the arena with the crowd that had the loudest pop.

Furthermore, WWE Hall of Famer, Eric Bischoff also took a shot on Punk for not drawing this time. Nevertheless, while they are finding it difficult to find a partner outside the USA, fans in Canada will be able to watch AEW Collision.

AEW Collision will be telecast in Canada but not on TV

On Friday AEW announcer Renee Paquette and RJ City appeared on TSN. They revealed Canada will be able to watch AEW Collision but on the TSN+ app. Moreover, this will make AEW Rampage not appear on TSN’s traditional television channel.
