According to pro wrestling journalist Denice Salcedo, Darby received the injury “when he attempted a front flip off the top rope.” causing three broken bones in his right foot. But despite the injury, he still wrestled for the rest of the match. Though he was on crutches after the White match, according to Fightful. Allin has had to cancel his climb of Everest that he had planned for the end of March. This injury also means that the plans for his return can be disrupted depending on the severity of it.

It has also been reported that the injury is unrelated to the kayfabe injury that The Daredevil suffered on his ankle at the hands of the Bullet Club Gold. But it could potentially serve as an excuse for the wrestler’s absence from future broadcasts. Also, Jay White loves claiming it was because of him as he recently wrote on Twitter, “Jay White* breaks AEW’s Darby Allin’s foot week before Mt Everest attempt. – Please report accurately & responsibly, @TMZ”
Darby Allin was on the lips of the professional wrestling community after his participation in Sting’s retirement match. The Daredevil executed a dangerous spot that involved a Coffin Drop on a sheet of glass. Despite being held under all possible safety conditions, the moment generated controversy from many fans and veterans of the business. Prompting a reply from none other than Tony Khan.

On AEW Revolution, Darby Allin starred in one of the most spectacular moments in AEW’s brief history. The wrestler climbed from the top of a ladder and threw himself on a glass panel that was placed on some chairs outside the ring. As breathtaking as it looked, this spot generated some serious debate. It seemed that AEW did not care about Daredevil’s physical well-being by letting Allin do this spot.
However, while speaking to TV Insider, Khan addressed the criticism of Darby Allin’s spot and how he approves of these dangerous spots. The AEW boss said that, despite the showiness of the movement, everything was scripted and under a security context, since he would not endanger the health of a wrestler from his company. He also revealed that Khan wants to know if there’s a safe way to do it anytime a fighter comes along and wants to try something, especially dangerous spots. And every time Allin’s had an idea for a wild spot or a crazy move, he’s had a reasoning and a plan.

All in all, it seems that Tony Khan was very satisfied with the result of that spot, and made it clear that he will continue to give freedom to wrestlers to star in dangerous moves as long as they have a plan to do it in a safe way and damage themselves as little as possible. What do you think? Should Tony Khan stop his fighters from doing such spots again?
