Bryan Danielson is giving away a big truth about his AEW tenure. Amidst the recent contract confusion brewing up in the global wrestling lore for a series of superstars, the 43-year-old has announced the winding down of his AEW tenure in public, striking huge discussion on an old narrative of rejoining WWE.
The prolific star widely notable for his WWE run made a huge decision to cut ties with the Stamford-based company, leaving an awe-inspiring legacy. In September 2022, Khan successfully lured him to his company as a blockbuster signing. Ever since, the former WWE star consistently made his recruiter proud, bringing his absolute best to the table.
Danielson put his heart and soul into All Elite Wrestling as he even took up backstage responsibilities. The self-acclaimed American Dragon had revealed that AEW’s knack for prioritizing wrestling rather than tending to entertainment for a wide demographic was his primary motivation to be a part of Khan’s team. He deems the Wrestling first approach of AEW in perfect sync with his commitment to the game.

However, things eventually turned laid back after the star in question announced that 2024 would be his last year in the pro wrestling business. The recent clip from last week’s Dynamite featured Danielson, confirming 1st August as his contract expiration date. Interestingly, he’s currently slated to challenge Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title at All In in the last quarter of August. While it’s unclear whether his contract termination refrained him from pursuing his already scheduled match, the WWE faithful’s souls lit up with the hope of getting him back in the WWE boots as early as in Survivor Series 2024.
WWE fans find hope in Bryan Danielson’s recent AEW contract update
However, the American Dragon didn’t leave on a pleasant note with the WWE. Although the former WWE faithful didn’t disclose much of a reason to walk away from WWE to respect the privacy of Vince McMahon, he brought forth the central issue. His wish to have more leeway with his characters on screen, especially the freedom to bleed, left him in trouble for continuing with the company. But fans’ expectation knows no bounds.

Danielson has often been compared to the American Nightmare. The way fans rallied behind him on the road to WrestleMania 30 quite resembles the story of Cody Rhodes garnering unbridled fans’ support in his journey to dethrone Roman Reigns through the course of WrestleMania 39 and 40. The AEW star also expressed his utter admiration for the 39-year-old. So, there’s some sense in fans wanting him to return and assist Cody Rhodes in his ongoing anti-Bloodline storyline. They also declared the ideal PLE to pitch that return.

A few fans also logically advised him to come back, reminding him of all the evolution made in the overall periphery of WWE in the new Paul Levesque era.
