Sheamus has been a renowned WWE superstar for more than a decade. He has accomplished almost everything in the company that there is to accomplish, and it appears like there are no major tasks remaining for him. Sheamus is currently not included in any championship pictures. However, that could change on the dime if the WWE decides to insert him into the world title picture. The Irishman has consistently recorded outstanding performances against a diverse list of opponents.
The WWE star had voiced his concerns about his lack of direction in recent times as speculation persists about a change of scenery for the Raw star. Jon Alba just appeared on a notable podcast and he put forward an interesting proposition. He opined on the fact that the Celtic Warrior could become a valuable member of AEW. Moreover, the Irishman could propel a revitalization of the Tag Team division in the Florida-based promotion.

Alba noted that because Sheamus does not have much to do in WWE, a move to AEW would be rather good for him. AEW does not have a strong Tag Team division, and Sheamus’ entry to AEW may result in joining forces with Claudio Castagnoli f.k.a Cesaro to reestablish The Bar. This would significantly strengthen the Tag Team division, with a plethora of opportunities and combinations emerging as a result.
Jon Alba stated in the Fightful Wrestling podcast with Sean Ross Sapp, “I mean, I could definitely see Sheamus. And I’ll tell you what, how badly, you mentioned Blackpool, how badly could that Tag Division use a reunion at The Bar, like in AEW? I mean, that would be so fantastic for that Tag Division.” So far this is just speculation but could this possibility have a chance of turning into reality?

Sheamus has been a mainstay of WWE for years. That doesn’t mean he intends to stay there for the rest of his career. It is believed that his contract will expire this year, and no word has been received regarding his willingness to re-sign another deal with the promotion. This adds to the exciting possibility that Sheamus could join AEW in the future.
So yet, the former World Champion hasn’t said anything about what he wants to do because he only returned from a six-month injury a few weeks ago. He would need a few months to settle, and in the meantime, he must decide too whether to extend his contract. Only time will tell what the Celtic warrior has in store. Until then, where do you guys want to see Sheamus? Send us your ideas.
