Is CM Punk's enemy just trying to get under his skin with this Drew McIntyre post?

CM Punk has made several foes on his way to the top of the hill. This time around, we are not talking about his on-screen rivals but the feuds that he started in real life. Social media saw an unexpected crossover between Punk’s WWE storyline rival and one who had indirectly cost him his role on the AEW roster.

Seeing this ultimate picture of Drew McIntyre and Jack Perry, NJPW star Kenta couldn’t stop himself from taking a shot at the Chicago-based wrestler. This is when he uploaded a story on Instagram for the entire world to see.

CM Punk’s past continues to haunt him

Back in the day, Kenta, who now works for NJPW, invented the popular wrestling move GTS, better known as ‘Go to Sleep’. He wasn’t even allowed to use the move during his time in WWE because of an injury he accidentally inflicted on his opponent while trying out a new variant of the same. However, CM Punk has been popularly using the move since 2006 after ‘stealing’ it from the Japanese wrestler. Since then, Kenta has not been a fan of the Chicago-based star. When The Scottish Warrior ran into Jack Perry, he uploaded a picture with him. Soon after realizing the sensitivity of the matter, he deleted it, but Kenta didn’t let that slide. He had already taken a screenshot of the image and uploaded it on his Instagram story along with his own laughing face.

In the image, we can see the Scotsman standing happily alongside the AEW star with whom CM Punk had the controversial backstage altercation. He is pointing to him with a smile. One possible reason for uploading it could have been his ongoing feud with the “Best in the World”.

Will this feud conclude in Punk’s favor?

CM Punk is now up against Drew McIntyre for a match at SummerSlam. Until then, the two aren’t allowed to even lay a finger on each other to avoid chaos. Since Punk is coming out of a long injury hiatus and fans have been waiting for this moment, there is a possibility that the WWE legend may end up winning this match. However, things have just become more difficult for the wrestler to survive in the ring. On Monday Night Raw 07/22, we saw the General Manager of Raw announce that Seth Rollins will be the guest referee during the match between McIntyre and CM Punk.

What’s your perspective on:

Is CM Punk's enemy just trying to get under his skin with this Drew McIntyre post?

Have an interesting take?

This makes things difficult not only for the Second City Saint but also for Drew McIntyre. However, given the fact that The Visionary has been wanting to teach The Cult of Personality a lesson, it can go a lot worse for him. There is still a possibility that the match may end in a no-contest because WWE would not want to upset the fans who have been waiting for the Chicago-based wrestler to return to the ring just to lose to a star who put him on the shelf. This would mean that we may either see CM Punk winning the match or ending things in a no-contest scenario.

Do you think this picture that McIntyre uploaded will make CM Punk even more mad at him?
