In 2022, AEW aired the PPV Double or Nothing where CM Punk clinched the AEW Championship after defeating Hangman Adam Page in a one-on-one encounter. With Adam Page in the middle of the ring, the Cult of Personality tried hitting a buckshot lariat to the then-AEW World Champion. However, CM Punk ended up botching the move and fell straight onto the mat. And with Punk back on the WWE 2K24 roster, fans have been trying hard to find this special move.

And it seems like one Twitter user has done the impossible. He managed to find the holy grail of wrestling special moves as he uploaded footage of the 2k24 gameplay. He uses CM Punk as his fighter and botches the Buckshot lariat exactly the same way it was botched back in 2022. Well, it sure looks like fans can relive the fun of Double or Nothing’s main event all over again.

CM Punk finished the 2022 main event with a three-count victory. Thus, the Second City Saint won the AEW World Championship, earning his first belt as a member of AEW. Moreover, the victory marked his first world-caliber title since January 2013 after his previous run in the WWE. Now that he is back in familiar territory, the former AEW star could be more comfortable in his skin. He could perhaps pull off the same move in his matchup against Drew McIntyre in the near future. Of course, he would be hoping for a different outcome than that at Double or Nothing. What do you make of the footage that has surfaced replicating Punk’s infamous botch at the AEW PPV?
