CM Punk and AEW were two things that people felt was a match made in heaven. However, reality showcased a different shade of things. We all know that the Best in the World returned to professional wrestling after seven years with AEW. His desire to engage and elevate himself and other wrestlers seemed like an enticing prospect as he came in without any baggage in a new setting.

Despite his ugly exit, CM Punk is noted for having a strong connection with his coworkers at this promotion. Having established himself as one of the finest wrestlers of his generation, his stature in the locker room remained high. That meant he would be a figurehead responsible for advice and mentorship for young wrestlers. One of these rookie wrestlers who received positive feedback from Punk was MJF.
