With fame comes responsibility. We all must be aware of this popular saying. However, in reality, despite the well-known personalities being utterly responsible, some people try to ruin their image. But things might change soon as CM Punk has taken the first step of calling such people out.

There’s no doubt that the practice of spreading fake news has accelerated with the internet. It’s a lot easy now to frame a piece of incorrect news about someone and proliferate it. Even though it sounds harsh, it’s the reality. And Punk has fallen prey to it when a well-known wrestling journalist wrote about the superstar being at odds with AEW.

Wrestling enthusiasts would know that Punk hasn’t been on TV in nine months since his AEW ALL OUT brawl broke in September 2022. But a report by PWInsider in April claimed that Punk and AEW are once again at odds over the return of Punk’s friend and trainer, Ace Steel.

This clearly didn’t go well with the former AEW World Champion, as he called out the journalist in public. Taking it to his Instagram, The Best in the World made multiple stories where he pointed fingers at Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez. He sarcastically mentioned the malpractices of the journalist.

A part of his story was, Look everyone, Bryan Alvarez doesn’t like it when misinformed internet trolls make up rumors about him so please stop making up rumors and stories for clicks while Bryan makes up rumors and stories for clicks okay?

Along with it, he also shared a screen grab of an email from Alvarez where the reporter claims to have no problem with Punk. Although, this email appears to be in reference to an old report.

Things didn’t end here. The former WWE Champion uses one more Instagram story to take out his frustration. In this, he politely gave a reminder not to talk about him again and again, despite the star’s inactive television presence.

In the end, the superstar simply concluded the matter by saying, “I don’t enjoy being the sole person that props up entire misinformed clickbait industry based on toxic gossip from lying sources, but what can you do? When you’re the king, it comes with the crown.”

Now, it remains to be seen how Alvarez responds back to these remarks about him. And if this malpractice is ever rectified or not?
