Big Daddy Cool Kevin Nash is in hot waters after admitting he won’t be present for The Icon Sting’s match at AEW Revolution PPV. This comes as a surprise because Sting will be wrestling his last match on March 3, 2024.
Nash revealed on his Kliq This podcast that “He (Sting) asked me to be a part of it, I just said that, you know, with my positioning with WWE I couldn’t”. With Triple H in charge of creative decisions, fans were hoping he would allow Nash to appear at the AEW PPV.

Nash even said that he had asked people in WWE,” but the long pause after the question told him everything he needed to know about whether they’d be okay with him being a part of anything AEW” After the statement, many believed Nash was on WWE’s payroll and was forbidden to appear on AEW. In the latest episode of Kliq This podcast Nash clarified his previous statement. He never used the word payroll instead meant closeness to higher-ups in WWE. He said “No, I never said that. What I said was, I’m a WWE guy. I can’t have a picture of me of the crowd and underneath it say ‘is All Elite.’ I just can’t have that. It just doesn’t work….One of my closest f*****g friends is Paul Levesque.”
The 64-year-old legend further stated that there is no bad blood between him and Sting.“As much as I love Steve, and I know he’ll only have one last match, I will watch it. We will talk about it, I just won’t… (be there).”
Despite the convoluted nature of Nash’s explanation, the fact of the matter is that he is likely under a legend’s contract. Even though Nash and Sting weren’t directly involved in major storylines against each other, they still enjoyed their status as the top draws in WCW.
