The latest AEW Double or Nothing PPV saw CM Punk finally win the AEW World Championship. ‘The Best in the Word’ became a world champion after almost nine long years.
Moreover, the last time CM Punk was a world champion was in WWE, he held the title for 434 days in 2013 and lost it to The Rock. Therefore, the fans were excited to see him once again in the World title picture.

When CM Punk returned to professional wrestling and made his debut in AEW, everyone had thought of him losing his touch with in-ring competition. However, his first match after returning against Darby Allin cemented the fact that he never forgot about his pro wrestling moves.
However, on Sunday at Double or Nothing, Punk seemed to be lost, some touch in his match against Adam Page. A YouTube Channel Flexico squad shared a video of CM Punk botching Shot Lariat Twice during his match with Page.
While connecting the first, Lariat Punk slipped while jumping over the ropes and hence he couldn’t connect it. Also, on the second he faced the similar situation, but this time, connected it. However, it was a botch, and it seemed CM Punk could not perform this maneuver.

Punk has wrestled ample matches in AEW since his return to professional wrestling. His matches with Darby Allin and MJF are highly loved by the fans and even the wrestling critics.
Even though there were a couple of botches, the rest of the match went well. Moreover, there were some die-hard fans of CM Punk in the crowd who came from Chicago to see their hero win the title. The Best in the World won the title and have the fans a happy send-off for the evening.
CM Punk has come a long way in AEW since The First Dance in August 2021
All the wrestling universe is aware of what circumstances CM Punk left WWE. It was the heat of the moment, so he pledged not returning to pro-wrestling again in life. By the end-of-year of 2014, Punk explained everything about why he was fed up in WWE.
He signed a multi-year contract with UFC and had two matches which he lost. He announced his retirement from MMA in 2018. Surprisingly, CM Punk finally returned to professional wrestling in August 2021 before a sold-out crowd in Chicago which is now known as The First Dance.

Prior to this, Punk was an analyst for the WWE Backstage show, which was under the contract of FOX. It seems he planned his wrestling return in late 2019, but he had to wait more because of the pandemic. One year later, he has some fantastic storylines in AEW and won the AEW World Championship on the recent Double or Nothing PPV.
