Becky Lynch stopped appearing on WWE programming after losing the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at King and Queen of the Ring and failing to regain the title in a ‘Steel Cage Match’. Despite her contract expiring on May 31, Lynch did not sign a renewal.
So does that mean that she is out of the WWE now and might join a rival promotion? Well, not exactly. Despite the contract ending, the WWE has still not moved Becky Lynch to the alumni section on their website’s roster page. So did they forget to update it, or is Lynch still a part of the promotion?

For the hopeful fans out there, the sad news is that Becky Lynch is not a part of the WWE right now. However, according to renowned insider Sean Ross Sapp, as revealed on the Fightful Wrestling Podcast, Becky Lynch is being planned to be brought back to the promotion. The WWE wants her back, and Lynch too wishes to return. So this is the reason she was not added to the alumni section. He said, “Becky is out of contract right now. She is a free agent. But WWE expects her to come back. She is expecting to come back at some point. Fightful Select reported that the day that her deal went up.”

On June 1st, Becky Lynch became a free agent for the first time in 11 years. So people were expecting that she would be moved to the alumni section already. While major reports of her talks with rival promotions should have come up by now, this hasn’t happened yet. But does that mean that there are no chances of her joining the AEW ranks? Well, according to Dave Meltzer, this seems unlikely.
Becky Lynch’s option to be part of AEW was discussed
Recently, there has been talk about the possibility of the Irishwoman signing with AEW. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tony Khan is interested in signing Becky Lynch for AEW. Just as he did with big stars such as Mercedes Mone, Will Ospreay, and Kazuchika Okada, whom he recently signed.

However, Meltzer thinks the chances of the signing happening are less since he does not believe that Lynch will go to a company with a totally different schedule, in addition to being a rival of the company where her husband, Seth Rollins, is working. However, The Visionary is also out of WWE programming right now due to an injury.
The same report details that Becky Lynch is taking time away from wrestling. So when she decides to return, she will have financially attractive offers from both WWE and AEW. However, Lynch’s decision is said to focus more on what she wants to do than on the economic aspect. What do you think? Will Lynch be a part of the AEW ranks? Let us know in the comments.
