Becky Lynch‘s contract with WWE officially came to an end last Saturday. A clause no longer binds the former Women’s Champion, meaning she is a free agent who can join any promotion for which she receives a contract. There is heavy speculation that Lynch will receive a contract from Tony Khan to work for his company.

Although the Irish woman hasn’t yet confirmed her presence anywhere, Fightful Wrestling believes it would make sense for her to join AEW. The reason behind this is rather personal.

The Man is a risk-taker who has continued wrestling even with a bloody nose on two occasions. This makes her suitable for the extreme stunts that AEW often goes for during its shows. Moreover, Tony Khan is known to offer more money in his contracts. However, Denise Salcedo believes there could be other reasons for her uncertainty about joining a new promotion.

The 37-year-old is one of the first batch of female wrestlers who haven’t quit the industry after reaching their 30s. So, it is difficult to track her steps. Denise said on Fightful Wrestling, “I don’t really know what the game plan is because we haven’t really seen somebody that has gone away at this time of her career, at this age.” Another thing that she pointed out is that Lynch is also a mom. “She’s got a little girl that’s like, a toddler, right? And you don’t want to miss out on those things,” added the podcaster.

While this doesn’t conclude anything about her joining a new workplace, it certainly shines a light on why she may not be renewing her contract in the Stamford-based company. However, one AEW star has urged the fans to keep the possibility of Becky Lynch working for AEW open.

Is AEW the suitable destination for Becky Lynch?

Chris Jericho was asked to speak about the Becky Lynch AEW debut rumors. This is when he mentioned how five years ago, she wouldn’t have any other options. But now that she could have gotten an offer from Tony Khan, the female superstar, according to the wrestling legend, could end up joining AEW. This is because Jericho is confident that a “bidding war” would result in their victory. He thinks that it is not impossible to see Becky Lynch work for AEW if the contract is in her favor. He closed the argument by giving examples of himself and other former WWE stars.

“Now you mentioned Becky Lynch. Five years ago, Becky would have no other options. Not saying that she’s coming, but there is an option. And who knows what could happen? You know, no one thought that Jericho would come to AEW. No one thought that Moxley would come or Bryan Danielson or Adam Cole or any of these guys that have come over. So it’s exciting for the fans. And it’s exciting for the wrestlers, the talent, because now suddenly if there’s a bidding war, that just benefits us,” said Chris Jericho while speaking to TMZ Sports.
