Tony Khan faces a real predicament as he faces the prospect of losing a few of his talents to WWE soon. While the reason for the same remains unclear, Hook’s name enters the list of wrestlers who could sign with a new promotion soon. This time, the request has come from one of Tony Khan’s biggest detractors, Eric Bischoff.

The WCW legend believes that the 25-year-old deserves to engage in a better storyline because he wasn’t hooked on it (Pun intended). On the contrary, Bischoff criticized it, asking the budding star to switch promotions over to WWE.

Among the few wrestlers who could leave AEW soon, Hook’s name emerges at the top of the list. Moreover, Eric Bischoff has asked him to join the WWE instead. He cited the recent storyline between Chris Jericho and Hook as his reasoning. Eric Bischoff said during a recent episode of 83 Weeks, “Chris [Jericho] is someone who I have a lot of respect for, but this was horrible. HOOK needs to get to ‘NXT’ as fast as he can. I mean, he’s not going to learn anything where he’s at. Let’s face it. He’s surrounded by a bunch of hardcore wrestlers, Terry Funk wannabes.

Although he has garnered considerable experience wrestling with more experienced stars, Bischoff thinks it hasn’t benefitted Hook anyhow. The wrestling faithful thought initially that a program with Jericho could improve the young star’s fortunes. With ‘The Learning Tree’ facing a staunch rejection from Hook, he challenged the then FTW champion to a title clash. Instead of the young star going over the veteran to propel his stature, the opposite happened. Hook’s reign ended at 238 days. His misery continued at Double or Nothing as he failed to reclaim the FTW championship against Jericho and Katsuyori Shibata in a Triple Threat match. Instead, Bischoff thinks the young star should join NXT now that his story with Chris Jericho has seemingly come to an end.

He isn’t the first AEW wrestler who is being asked to join NXT. Ricky Starks was also asked to pull off a similar move, given his absence from the active roster on Tony Khan’s promotion.

Ricky Starks could end up in WWE soon

Fans last saw the rising star on 30th March during the AEW World Tag Team Title tournament where he and his partner lost. Since then, fans have been questioning his long absence. The star also eventually revealed that he is doing fine and the viewers need not worry about his health in any way. This further increased the doubts about why Tony Khan hasn’t booked the wrestler for the future.
