“Are You Proud of Me Now?”: Amid Her Pregnancy, Tay Melo Cold-Heartedly Slug off Her Biological Father While Expressing Gratitude to Her Step Dad

Pro wrestlers deal with complex issues just like many people do in their lives. They have their share of struggles that often get buried in the flash of spotlight and media coverage. But if you take a look beyond the surface, you might spot the amount of pain they have been carrying with them throughout their journey to the pinnacle of name and fame.

AEW‘s Tay Melo is currently supposed to be in a more elated mood than ever before. As fans already know, the former NXT star is soon to be a mother to fellow AEW wrestler Sammy Guevara’s child. But it seems like Melo got some past wound triggered ahead of the beginning of her motherhood.

Tay Melo called her dad out in a savage tweet before stepping into motherhood

Melo and Guevara started dating last year. They tied the knot in August 2022 in Orlando. Despite facing some backlash from fans initially regarding Guevara’s past relationship, the couple garnered much love and adoration from the industry afterward. Their dramatic pregnancy announcement at AEW Double or Nothing 2023 doubled the enthusiasm of their fans and peers.

However, before their debut in parenthood, the AEW wrestler had a flashback of her parents, who split up long ago. It gave little Melo a hard childhood.

Years later, Melo sarcastically fired at her biological father, asking if he was proud of her after the pregnancy news. However, she expressed her utter gratitude to her stepfather.

The former NXT talent tweeted, ”Are you proud of me now Dad? A big F**K YOU for all the “dads” that abandoned his kids. I can relate !! But I’m lucky I have the best stepdad ever !!!”

Now, Melo is really lucky in terms of getting a super cool stepdad. This could also be because he also shares a good bond with her partner Sammy Guevara.

Tay Melo’s stepdad isn’t only affectionate to her. Rather, he took an extreme liking to her partner Guevara. The father-in-law and son-in-law duo shared an enviable bond, and Melo couldn’t get enough of it.

‘The Spanish God’ met his wife’s parents during a short vacation in Brazil and it was simply picture-perfect. The would-be mom shared those family photos on social media to make fans sweep off their feet.

Then he and Melo’s father grew close to each other with time to make a stronger and adorable bond. Melo shared many pictures of them together, which itself spoke louder of how great his stepdad is as a father, moreover as a human being.

We wish the couple all the very best for their impending parenthood. We also hope Tay Melo will get over her bitter past soon to head to a brighter future.
