The most recent moment that caught fans and the pro wrestling community off guard was the return of CM Punk. The Second City Saint returned to WWE on the night of Survivor Series which was held in his hometown of Chicago. While fans are excited to see him back in his old stomping grounds, some members of the community are not so thrilled. One such member, ‘The Boss’ Bobby Lashley shared what he wants from WWE since CM Punk’s return.
Bobby Lashley wants WWE to set ground rules
Talking with Steve Fall of Wrestling News, Lashley shared his views on CM Punk and the plan of action WWE should take while Punk is here. Lashley stated that he believes the former AEW star will help the company by raking in some big numbers. While it was proven by the numbers seen at Survivor Series, he believes that Punk should put in some work to prove himself to his haters. ” I hope he’s not one of the people that’s like ‘oh okay, he comes back, gonna win the Rumble, we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do that.”, said the eight-time Champion.

Lashley further added that he wants WWE to allow Punk to “prove his loyalty to the business.” Following that, he also mentioned that a few people are not quite happy with him being there. He added that he wants Punk to prove not only to his fans but also to “some of the people that aren’t too happy about him being there.”
Ultimately, Lashley wants Punk to have a proper opportunity to work his way to the top. He feels Punk might have negotiated a contract that entails some things in his favor, but he still wants him to prove his mettle to everyone.

While Lashley did say what he wanted from both WWE and CM Punk, he also mentioned that the former UFC star owes him something more.
What does CM Punk owe to Bobby Lashley?
Lashley and CM Punk barely had any encounters in the ring. At the time when the 45-year-old star was at the prime of his career in 2008, Lashley took a break from WWE. When Lashley returned in 2018, Punk was signed by UFC, where he fought a couple of matches. Talking about that, Lashley said that he did indeed bet his money on Punk. Unfortunately, the star lost his matches there. Speaking of that, Lashley said that Punk owes him his money back as a joke.

Since his return to WWE, there have been rumors on how things will go for him. While many believe that he might be the one to dethrone Seth Rollins or Gunther by defeating them at title shots, one particular theory is that he might go against The Head of The Table. Roman Reigns has been sitting comfortably on his throne of the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for more than 1000+ days. While it might seem a far-fetched dream, it might be possible with the help of Paul Heyman. What do you think is in store for CM Punk following his return?
