Mercedes Mone, FKA as Sasha Banks, is currently the most sought-after free agent in the world of wrestling. Speculation about her next destination after leaving NJPW/STARDOM has plagued the wrestling community for months. At one point in time last summer, it looked like AEW would be her new home. At other periods, speculation suggested that she would most likely return to WWE. However, the rumors have come full circle now as speculation suggests that her arrival in AEW seems imminent.
Despite the clarity on the time and place where we could see the Boss again, she seems optimistic about her return. The former WWE star teased a promising career ahead for herself through a message on social media.

Mercedes Mone often drops hints on social media that keep fans on their toes. Every sign or symbol has wrestling enthusiasts working overtime to decode what it could mean for her future. This time, she uploaded a positive quote on her Instagram story that could emerge as a foreshadowing of her new career with AEW. It read, “Remember that some of the best times of your life haven’t even happened yet.”

And how could we say that it is about AEW? Well, PWInsider reported that Mercedes Mone could return to wrestling in March. However, no official confirmation has emerged over whether her destination is WWE or AEW. Nevertheless, the rumor mill runs rampant about an apparent debut for Banks at AEW. Reports had also confirmed that Mone will be present in Japan, but only on the road and not to fight. All the information that has come to light in the last month points to Mercedes Mone signing with AEW. If she finally returns to wrestling in March, AEW Revolution could prove as the perfect stage for her first appearance.
Dave Meltzer too revealed on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that it is believed that Mercedes Mone had already signed a deal with AEW several weeks ago. Initially, the intention was to announce her signing during the AEW Collision event. However, because the focus was on the Vince McMahon lawsuit, AEW opted to postpone the announcement.

Mercedes Mone has yet to appear in any wrestling company since the injury she suffered at NJPW Resurgence in May 2023. If her deal with AEW turns out to be a full-time contract, it would be her first since she left WWE in 2022, as her deal with Bushiroad to wrestle in NJPW and STARDOM centered around appearances.
