Wrestlers might have disappeared in the course of nature, but their aura keeps on hovering around the WWE Universe perpetually. From Terry Funk, and The Iron Sheik to Bray Wyatt, and Brodie Lee, every lost gem has some way, or the other been living through their richly carved-out legacy. To make it even more striking, a few months back, Triple H planned to bring in Uncle Howdy, Wyatt’s alter ego, to the foray, and ever since the weekly shows have not been the same. Plenty of QR code glitches, spooky images, links, etc were prefiguring Bo Dallas’s cinematic return on the June 17th episode of Raw. But what they didn’t tell us was the epic tribute to another fallen star, Brodie Lee, was shaping up to blow our minds on the same night.

Lee received another form of homage from Tony Khan. AEW’s new collaboration with Reebok to launch a signature sneaker in the memory of Lee speaks volumes about the position he used to hold in the realm of pro wrestling.

Brodie Lee (1979 to eternity) has been largely acknowledged as the most celebrated TNT Champion in the Jacksonville-based promotion’s history. The former Dark Order’s leader has successfully walked all over The American Nightmare to rise to a higher rank. Before he could bring all his forte to AEW, life gave him the ultimate ultimatum. Lee, 41, breathed his last succumbing to a severe lung complication. But the company keeps on keeping him in its prayers. Sole Retriever revealed AEW and Rebook joined hands again to honor the late legend by launching a pair of Classic Leather Brodie Lee shoes on July 1st, 2024.

This specific variant of shoes is expected to cost $90. Before this specific collaboration, the two business juggernauts worked to release exclusive shoes for Young Bucks. But the marshaling to do it for a fallen star is unique in all senses. On the other hand, WWE elevating the memory of Luke Hyper on Uncle Howdy’s debut night was equally mesmerizing, if not more.

Just after Jey Uso scored a smooth victory in the main event over Finn Balor and Rey Mysterio to slide into the Money in The Bank 2024 card, the real main event transpired. The light turned dim and Nikki Cross slowly emerged from the dark as the first glimpse of the most-awaited Wyatt 6 debut. Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, and Dexter Lumis followed suit. Finally surpassing the bloody piles of bodies, Uncle Howdy walked in. While the sinister faction paid a collective tribute to Bray Wyatt, they also referenced Luke Harper. Just when Erick Rowan was seen hiding behind the Rambling Rabbit’s mask, the giant hammer on his shoulder reminded us of the iconic Bludgeon Brothers’ (tag team consisting of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper) hammer.
