The world of pro wrestling is one of cutthroat competition. Not just between wrestlers but also the promotions who want to attain the top talent. Because only then can you be at the top of the wrestling food chain. CM Punk was the top star and crowd puller for AEW for the longest time. He helped bring up the ratings of AEW’s Collision after returning on the show in June.
But because of a backstage brawl that happened at ‘All In’, CM Punk got fired. And now AEW is searching for a experienced professional to take up AEW’s mantle. One name to fill that position is ‘The Rated R Superstar’ Edge whose contract with the WWE has ended and is yet to be renewed. Edge recently celebrated his 25 glorious years in the WWE on SmackDown. But he didn’t renew his contract as WWE flatly rejected certain conditions laid out by him. And now news has emerged from trusted insider source BWE that Edge is very close to joining Tony’s clan.

BWE reported on Twitter saying, “Edge is closer to AEW more than ever apparently. Mind blown on how this business has changed yet so similar to WCW/WWF. The E are playing the right cards right now. Unless something big pops up in AEW books in the future”.
At the same time, there are rumors that CM Punk might rejoin the WWE. According to BWE, this comes as an enactment of the ‘Monday Night Wars’ between WCW and WWE which led to a lot of wrestlers jumping ship.
