Home/WWE

For many professional wrestlers, ending up in a major company is always the end goal. Similarly, former AEW wrestler Cody Rhodes came back home to WWE at last year’s WrestleMania 38. However, he is not the only one who has hinted at joining WWE since early 2022 several times. Shockingly, it seems this time a 26-year-old top AEW star is serious about joining the Stamford-based company in the future.

Recently, Fightful Select shared a report which stated MJF telling a WWE talent, he will be in WWE next year. The report stated, “This extends to WWE, as well. Including one WWE talent outright admitting that MJF said “I’m looking forward to being there in 2024,” before noting that while MJF wanted them to think he was serious, they take it with a grain of salt. Word of him saying that had made its way to other talent there, as well.”

This is not the first time that rumors of Friedman’s aspirations for joining WWE have floated around. Even WWE has an interest in bringing MJF to their company in the future once his AEW contract is up.

There was a time when Tony Khan encouraged WWE’s motive to sign MJF. However, there is no news on when the AEW star’s contract is up. A few reports say his contract is up by the end of 2023, while others say he will be done with AEW in early 2024.

Sadly, there is no news on MJF’s last date in AEW, which makes it a problem for WWE to start the talk. The bidding wars will be interesting for MJF when his contract is up and many are waiting for this WWE vs AEW war.

Bully Ray gives the reason MJF will not join WWE like Cody Rhodes did

MJF is a top heel of AEW and his promos are top-notch with some controversial words. Therefore, his entry into WWE could be difficult due to the nature of his gimmick. Bully Ray shared his mind on this in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet.

Ray said, “He would never be able to be the version of the MJF that we know and love. They would’ve to put their twist, their spin as they do with everything because that’s just the way WWE is and is that wrong of them? It’s their company.”

If MJF joins WWE, the creative will probably twist a few aspects of his wrestling character. Perhaps the only way Friedman joins WWE will be if he and the company are on the same page.
