Bobby Lashley has been an influential figure in WWE since he returned to the company in 2018. However, it seems that the wrestler’s contract is set to expire soon. While talks over an extension could take place soon, he has reportedly been removed from the internal roster of the promotion, making it unlikely that he will re-enter the workplace anytime soon.

WWE is not the only big wrestling company losing faces, AEW will also be joining them in their fate. New reports reveal that Tony Khan is having difficulty holding on to some stars too.

Time and again, there is a wave of lay-offs in big wrestling promotions when they release some talents in a bunch. WWE could record its first casualty soon enough. Bobby Lashley’s contract is running out and he has reportedly been removed from the internal roster. MVP and Tamina Snuka could also accompany them due to their lack of appearances on WWE programming. Now, a report from WrestlePurists reveals that WWE is not alone in doing multiple layoffs. Tony Khan will also join the competition in releasing more of his stars shortly.

While this will make room for stars to jump ships and switch promotions, some of them may even be on the verge of leaving their career behind if they don’t find the wrestling world hospitable enough. As of now, there are many names on the list from AEW’s end, but Ricky Starks emerges as the most notable one. This is because he has previously claimed that Tony Khan hasn’t booked him meaningfully for matches despite being in contract and in perfect health.

Is Bobby Lashley not of value to WWE anymore?

The wrestling talent has been an absolute beast in the ring whenever given the chance. Not only does Lashley look intimidating, but has also been over with fans several times. He was also part of the Hurt Business faction. Under the helm of Vince McMahon, Lashley had etched his stature as a top-tier superstar. However, Triple H taking over the creative department has affected him adversely. The promotion stopped booking him for some time, and now he probably won’t be seen again. Neither of the reports clarifies why WWE is releasing Lashley, MVP, and Tamina Snuka. One out of the three names was clearly not happy with the way the Stamford-based company was booking gimmicks and matches in the promotion.

MVP had previously accused Triple H of racism and also claimed that he had stolen the Hurt Business gimmick to give it to The Bloodline. There were no further discussions on the same in any press conferences moving forward but it seems like he wanted to get out of the company anyway, so MVP’s terms with WWE could be ending for the rest of the time he remains in the wrestling business. Whether he will continue as a wrestler or not is yet to be seen.

Reports suggest that these may not be the last of the names that will be released from either of the promotions and they will make ‘more moves’. Tune in again to stay updated on the list.
