CM Punk is coming back to AEW. Fans will again turn all eyeballs towards the return of the “Best in the World” on the debut of AEW’s newest show, Collision. Moreover, it all goes down in the hometown of Punk, Chicago, Illinois. Tony Khan indeed has created the perfect scenario for the benefit of his company.

Tony Khan announced the debut of the third major AEW program, Collision, some time back. However, as soon as it was revealed to take place in Chicago, rumors began running wild that CM Punk would resurface at the event. The speculation gained traction because Punk had reportedly made amends with Tony Khan and his company, and was gearing up himself to return.
The former WWE champion had been absent since his All Out 2022 post-media scrum fiasco. After potentially observing the speculations himself, Tony Khan took advantage of the opportunity to make Punk’s return official this week on Dynamite in hopes of selling out the first edition. Although Khan’s decision to bring Punk back had some reported issues and heat from the locker room.
Nevertheless, CM Punk’s return announcement surely attracted one AEW star who shares a point of commonality with him. That star is Andrade El Idolo. The Mexican star himself has been missing from action for several months now due to injury, much like Punk. He took to Twitter to send a message in regards to CM Punk’s upcoming return.
“I have something similar with this guy!!! #AEWCollision 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼.”
Andrade’s message could be an indication that AEW is slowly planting the seeds for CM Punk’s first feud after his resurgence.
Is there another bizarre coincidence between Andrade and CM Punk?
As mentioned, Andrade El Idolo has been dealing with a torn pectoral injury. The promotion wrote him off programming via a suspension angle, after being involved in a heated altercation with Sammy Guevara backstage. Since then, he has been spotted spending time with his wife, Charlotte Flair, and also undergoing surgery for his injured shoulder.

Moreover, there is another interesting common factor in regard to CM Punk and Andrade El Idolo. Andrade’s last AEW match was the Casino Ladder Match at All Out 2022. Coincidentally, it was the same night Punk was involved in the real-life brawl with The Elite, leading to his suspension.
