Last week, WWE and AEW were at loggerheads with each other because of the Tuesday Night War. The wrestling faithful were treated to a dose of nostalgia after the  WWE’s battle with WCW in the late 90s. The Stamford-based promotion called in the heavy artillery in the form of John Cena, The Undertaker, and Cody Rhodes to amp up NXT. And that definitely helped the promotion as WWE emerged as a clear winner of the Tuesday Night War.

NXT got a total of 921,000 viewers in the 18-49 demographic while Dynamite got 609,000 in the same group. That’s when Tony Khan launched a full-fledged Twitter attack on Triple H and Co. He even dragged in top stars like John Cena and The Undertaker in one of his childish tweets. Even the top AEW officials felt it was a bit too much and wanted Khan to just stay away from social media. But AEW’s top star Chris Jericho didn’t seem to be bothered by Khan’s tirade against the WWE.

On the contrary, he gave his own opinion about the addition of WWE’s top talent to NXT last week. In his recent interview with The Messenger, Jericho made it quite clear that he was least bothered with the ratings war. He said, “You can only bring in Cena and Undertaker and Cody and everybody else so much because nobody wants to work on their secondary show all the time. And it was a fun little, ‘Hey, F-you AEW.’ I didn’t even really worry about it”.

But going back to Tony Khan’s outburst on Twitter, he didn’t stop there.

This was almost a year ago when Khan’s mother was in the hospital and he was by her side. According to him, that’s when WWE started poaching wrestlers from AEW.

Khan spoke about the same on Twitter just a few days after his infamous social media outburst. It was a tough time for Khan and he had to simultaneously speak to his talent regarding this issue.
