All it took was one tweet from Chris Jericho for AEW to steal the thunder from WWE.

Notably, Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins battled it out on Raw for the right to choose the stipulation for their upcoming match at The Horror Show at Extreme Rules on 19th July.

Upon winning the impromptu match, Rey Mysterio announced that his choice of the stipulation was “eye for an eye”. This translates to – in order to win the match, the player will have to pull out their opponent’s eye.

Chris Jericho takes a dig at WWE for copying concept from AEW

Now, this announcement caught the attention of Canadian wrestler Chris Jericho. He took to Twitter to call out WWE on copying the concept of “Eye for an eye” from AEW.

He posted the poster of the match between Jon Moxley and Santana that took place on the February 12th, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Obviously, AEW did not actually make their wrestlers pull out the other’s eye. However, WWE made it very clear that the only way to win was extraction of the eye from the eyeball to win.

Hence, it will be rather interesting to watch how WWE manages to pull off the gruesome special effects.

The caption of Jericho’s post reads – “Eye for an eye match? You’re welcome…. #AEWDynamite 2/12/20 @AEWrestling”.

Most wrestlers who shift from WWE to AEW call out the former for its way of conducting events

The primary idea behind Chris Jericho’s post is to take a dig at his former company.

Even though the post does not include any other dig than “You’re welcome”, it gets the job done. He ensures AEW gets credit for the origin of the concept.

This is not the first time a wrestler who shifted from WWE to AEW has taken shots at his former employer.

According to most of the wrestlers, Vince McMahon’s company always manages to suck the joy and the creativity out of the process.

On top of this, AEW’s founder Tony Khan decided to pour fuel over the fire by responding with a GIF calling himself a scientist.

It is clear as day that this was Khan’s attempt at proving he is better with concepts and creativity than Vince McMahon and WWE’s creative team.
