Shane McMahon has been in the news ever since he returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. His recently reported WWE exit has become a hot topic of discussion in the pro wrestling world.

Shane was reported to stay in WWE for a little longer. But that wasn’t the case. There are reports claiming that Shane McMahon wanted to highlight himself during the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. And this gave rise to several backstage arguments.

In recent times, several individuals got released by WWE. And a lot of them ended up signing for AEW. Following Shane McMahon’s WWE release, fans speculated whether Shane McMahon would show up at AEW.

Recently speaking with Sports Illustrated, the AEW president Tony Khan responded to rumors of Shane McMahon appearing in AEW. The AEW president said, “I’d certainly take the call. I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling.”

He added, “I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”

How did Shane McMahon do in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match?

Shane McMahon surprised everyone by entering the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. After being out of action for a long time, McMahon entered the Rumble match at number 28.

He competed for just over 5 minutes and even eliminated his former on-screen rival, Kevin Owens.

But he could not grab his ticket to headline WrestleMania as Brock Lesnar eliminated him from the match. Lesnar would eventually win the Rumble match by eliminating Drew McIntyre in the end.
