Recently speaking with Sports Illustrated, the AEW president Tony Khan responded to rumors of Shane McMahon appearing in AEW. The AEW president said, “I’d certainly take the call. I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling.”

He added, “I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”

How did Shane McMahon do in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match?

Shane McMahon surprised everyone by entering the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble Match. After being out of action for a long time, McMahon entered the Rumble match at number 28.

He competed for just over 5 minutes and even eliminated his former on-screen rival, Kevin Owens.

But he could not grab his ticket to headline WrestleMania as Brock Lesnar eliminated him from the match. Lesnar would eventually win the Rumble match by eliminating Drew McIntyre in the end.

Several former WWE superstars and WWE legends have expressed their views regarding Shane’s WWE release. Albeit, the former WWE superstar James Ellsworth does not think that the WWE Universe has seen the last of Shane McMahon in WWE.
