The rating war between AEW and WWE was a buzzing topic back in 2021. There was a time when AEW even beat Raw in terms of ratings. However, WWE veteran still thinks that there is nothing AEW President Tony Khan can do to surpass the legacy of WWE chairman Vince McMahon.
Former WWE referee Marty Elias recently appeared in an interview with Chat Grapple and Cheap Pops. The referee gave his blunt opinion on this war between AEW and WWE. Elias noted that various AEW fans and all the AEW wrestlers think that they can bring down what Vince built, but it is impossible.
Furthermore, Elias confessed that AEW is just like WCW 2.0. Back in the late 90s, WCW President Eric Bischoff was the one who gave Vince a run for his money. The rivalry between the two companies was termed as the ‘Monday Night War’, this was the time when Attitude Era and nWo were born.

Eventually, Elias still thinks that none of the AEW members can shake what Vince McMahon built for nearly half a century.
“To me, AEW is WCW 2.0. That’s exactly what it fuc*ing is.” Elias confessed his thoughts about WCW. “Vince [McMahon] has been doing this a long fuc*ing time in the fact that Tony Khan and everybody thinks that they’re gonna be that number one. This is Vince McMahon, you’re fuc*ing talking about man. Never, ever fuc*ing count Vince McMahon out even today.” Elias said.
Vince McMahon is unphased by the competition
Various fans on the internet are concerned about the direction of WWE. Because since 2020, the company has released over a hundred superstars, and the most recent wrestler to part his ways with WWE was Cesaro.
However, with all of these minor hiccups, the WWE recently reported their most successful quarter since the inception of the company. Vince McMahon’s company recorded over a billion dollars’ worth of revenue in 2021.
