This week’s Friday night episode was dedicated to the wrestling icon, Bray Wyatt. WWE paid its tribute to the late star in not one but multiple ways. All the ways were so unique and thoughtful that even AEW stars like Renee Paquette and Matt Hardy were full of praise for the sports entertainment giant.

The show began with WWE commemorating Wyatt and the late legend Terry Funk, who died a day before Wyatt. The promotion honored the two departed souls with a traditional 10-bell salute at the beginning of the show. A montage of Wyatt’s WWE career was also shown on the jumbotron as the entire SmackDown roster stood at the ramp.

WWE capped off the kickoff homage segment by leaving Wyatt’s iconic chair in the spotlight, which made the WWE Universe teary-eyed. Throughout the show, WWE and its stars made some meaningful gestures that show how much they valued and respected the presence of Wyatt in the promotion.

WWE superstars feel a hole in their hearts

Wyatt had a heel persona for most of his WWE career. That is why he had little to no on-screen friends. But in real life, everyone loved him. During a match against Grayson Waller, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio paid homage to Wyatt in a very classy way. He used Wyatt’s signature clothesline and senton bomb against his opponent.

Before his match with Finn Balor in the main event of the show, even LA Knight had a few words to honor the dead.
