Mega-returns are always a huge part of professional wrestling for the longest period. Some wrestlers retired due to injury but later returned to in-ring action after a few years. Stars like Edge and Bryan Danielson are examples of the same. However, recently we saw a similar thing on the AEW Full Gear PPV when a retired star Saraya aka Paige returned for a match.

The former WWE superstar was confident to be cleared for Full Gear to face Baker. The AEW star had her first match since she effectively retired due to an injury suffered at a WWE live event in 2017.
The match went well as Saraya put on a good performance. She managed to break free from Baker’s Lockjaw submission and hit a series of suplex-DDTs to pick up the victory. Overall, Saraya got praised for her performance after five long years. However, there were some fans who had different views about her win.
Clearly, she proved that AEW is now Saraya’s house and is ready for much bigger things in the company. In the coming week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, we might hear from Saraya about what’s next for her.
Fans bash Saraya on Twitter following her match after five years
Even though she won and had a great return moment, some of the fans didn’t like it. They were upset that Baker took the loss to Saraya, and this doesn’t help The Dentist’s spot in AEW. Moreover, some of the users even gave negative reviews of the match.

SLLLOOWW. Britt had to carry that match which wasn’t saying much considering again how slow it was. Saraya was very very VERY rusty. Her super kicks seemed shot in slow motion. Not to mention those roll ups. Very CMPunk return ish. In all this is definitely to be continued.

A few fans didn’t like the match.
That match was sloppy. And btw, wrong winner,
This win was gonna benefit Britt more than Saraya .

There was a backlash among some of the fans who are rooting for Britt Baker since day one. Nevertheless, this was a great comeback for the former WWE star after a career-ending injury. Surely, Saraya took some bumps which put her body weight on her neck but did it smoothly.
As Saraya, Paige has been in AEW for a long time. It will not be a surprising scene in the future when she wins the AEW Women’s World Championship.
