The “Eye for an Eye Match” fought between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins at WWE Extreme Rules has been on fire on Twitter ever since it aired. The match is being widely criticized from all angles, especially that eye-catching ending (no pun intended).
During the course of the match, both competitors got brutal. Seth Rollins brought his own eye extraction kit to the ring, even pulling out a pair of pliers from his jacket before the match began.

In different points in the match, Rollins used a Kendo stick, attempting to pierce the eye out of Rey Mysterio. Mysterio barely escaped these desperate attempts by the “Monday Night Messiah.”
Rollins attempted to push Mysterio face-first into the commentary table as well. He used a sharp object, in an effort to pierce Mysterio’s eye out.

In a clever try, Rollins removed a white rope from his kit and tied Mysterio’s left hand to the turnbuckle outside the ring. He then proceeded to extract the eye of a defenseless Mysterio.
Rollins clearly didn’t know his enemy because if anything, Rey Mysterio is more dangerous with the feet than his hands. Mysterio caught Rollins between his legs and turned him towards the pole.

He then got himself free from the ropes and took the fight to Rollins. In a desperate moment, Rollins tried gouging out Mysterio’s eyes with his own hands.
The match reached its climax when both Superstars attempted to win the match using the steel steps. Mysterio almost got it, by pushing Rollins’ eye in far enough to injure it.
He attempted to end the “Monday Night Messiah” with cruel irony.
Rey Mysterio had to face the same fate twice at WWE Extreme Rules
However, Rollins turned on Mysterio, and Curb Stomped him. He then dragged a powerless Mysterio to the steps and pushed his eye into the side. Hopelessly resisting, Mysterio was finally pushed in too deep, and Rollins let go quickly.
He then came back to finish the job but quickly turned away in horror. As the camera zoomed in, we could see that the job was already done.
Mysterio was holding his eyeball than had been gouged out of its socket!

A horrified Rollins watched as his opponent was taken away screaming in pain. Seth Rollins was victorious, but at what cost? Throwing up after seeing it, Rollins didn’t want to celebrate this victory.
However, his reaction isn’t the only thing that has made fans’ day today.
