A few years back she revealed a similar incident. “I’ve had people argue with me, to tell me that I’m Coco Gauff. All of us look the same, all of us are built the same. Everybody sees a black person and assumes that it’s Venus [Williams] or Serena [Williams] – I’ve been literally all of them, except for myself,” she said. Townsend’s experiences are weird but the way she keeps improving her game, she might soon reach a ranking as high as Coco Gauff.
Taylor Townsend might lose this time but her extremely supportive playing partner Katerina Siniakova is there for her. The way Siniakova took care of the American player showcases how such equations lead to more success. This might not be their time but more titles are might be waiting for them. What do you think?
