It’s people like Serena Williams‘ husband, Alexis Ohanian, who are breaking barriers in the sporting arena despite not being an athlete. He is one of the few American figures who has promoted the women’s division of the sport, in addition to being a staunch booster of his wife’s success in tennis. And now, three years after investing in a Los Angeles soccer team, he is following in David Beckham‘s footsteps.

The 48-year-old former soccer player turned investor has been a fervent supporter of his team, sticking by them through wins and losses. While Ohanian, who is a little more novice than Beckham in this field, recently replicated Beckham’s family move to relish a night of Women’s soccer.

The 40-year-old American entrepreneur is one of the biggest supporters of women’s soccer and supports Alex Morgan’s United States Women’s National Soccer Team to the fullest, by investing $100,000,000 in Angel City FC in 2020. And now the American soccer team is ready to face Sweden in the biggest showdown of the year at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Ohanian shared on his Instagram page how relaxing activities like playing with Legos help him unwind before important events. He posted a video of himself playing with a Lego set early in the morning, showing how he’s following Beckham’s lead by relaxing and playing the game as a hobby. Along with that, he wrote, “Getting ready to wake up early to cheer up for @uswnt by watching @wearanglecity and making legos.”

Nevertheless, he also hinted that, in excitement for the finals, he’s all set to support Morgan’s team in the FIFA final.

Although he started supporting women’s soccer back in 2019, since then his social media account and his words in various interviews and podcasts have talked about how the sport has huge potential but lacks support.

A few months ago, in a Bloomberg interview, he stunned everyone by sharing how, whenever he thinks of American sporting talents, he imagines women athletes around the country.

Well, to support the stand, he has invested in a Los Angeles-based women’s soccer team. And since then, he is leaving no stone unturned in supporting women’s soccer, just like his own family.
