It’s been a phenomenally eventful week for Spanish player Garbine Muguruza. Muguruza won the Akron WTA Finals in Mexico last month. Furthermore, she also took home the Dubai WTA 1000 and Chicago 500 titles earlier this year.
The 2-time Grand Slam champion has been in the news lately for multiple reasons. Particularly, Muruguza took the ceremonial kick-off today at the Santiago Bernabeu, for the LaLiga football match between Real Madrid and Athletic de Bilbao, a massive achievement no doubt.

Muguruza also met the Spanish royal couple
However, this wasn’t the only highlight of Muguruza’s week. Earlier this week, on Wednesday, Garbine Muguruza met the royal Spanish couple, too. Not only did she meet King Felipe and Queen Letizia, but they had come to grace Muguruza’s own reception event.
The event celebrated her historic victory in Mexico. Garbine shared the photographs on her Instagram. “Great honor and pleasure sharing this morning with the Kings 🇪🇸,” read the caption.
