Leylah Fernandez joined the bandwagon of excited participants as she channeled her dream of winning gold with an adorable gesture. The Canadian star is ready to fight for glory as she dreams about the upcoming event. 

Fernandez was announced in Team Canada’s roster for the Paris Olympics in April. She proudly joined her compatriots in unveiling their national dress for the event in Toronto’s Liberty Grand. Now, Fernandez shares the passion she encompasses for the Paris Olympics with the help of a recent reel on her official Instagram profile.

In the reel, she is sleeping, with her uniform neatly folded and placed on top of the covers. As the video was focused on personifying her dream of the Games, the camera person made Fernandez smile as she threw doubt on the player actually sleeping in such a manner. Her racquet placed right beside her is too adorable to miss! “I’m actually counting down the days though 🇨🇦🙈,” she captioned her video.

In this reel, the camera woman doubts Fernandez, “you don’t sleep like that surely. She’s so excited that she sleeps with a massive smile on her face.” Getting the chance to represent her country at an event like the Olympics, Fernandez might have been overwhelmed with joy. When she unveiled the national dress, it fueled her excitement, which can be seen in the reel. “The little Leylah in me has always dreamed of competing at the Olympics and it means the world to me to represent Canada,” she said in a social media post in April.

Fernandez participated in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where she attained reasonable results. She won the first round against Dayana Yastremska but Barbora Krejcikova defeated her in the second round. This time, she is desperate to win in Paris, and she is motivated to find better results in the French Capital after an early exit from the French Open.

Fernandez previously revealed her excitement about getting the chance to represent Canada’s team at the Paris Olympics. She also contributed to her country’s Olympic venture before the event started.

Fernandez, the brand ambassador of Lululemon, was one of the athletes who shared their suggestions with the company when they were designing the Olympics national dress for Canada. Mentioning it as “an honor”, Fernandez further delved into her thoughts as she unveiled the dress at Toronto’s Liberty Grand in April. “Even though the Games haven’t started just yet, I’m embracing every little step of this incredible journey and [the] kit launch was a big one. Revealing this special collection is going to be a core memory,” she said.

The Canadian WTA star also complimented her brand for pulling off an amazing job with the costume. “It’s really unique and I can’t wait to wear it proudly this summer along with all of these inspiring athletes that I got to meet and get to know better this week,” said Fernandez.
