Coco Gauff leaving legends starstruck—Is she the most exciting talent in tennis today?

Coco Gauff brings a whole new meaning to ‘Blood Sweat and Tears’! The American tennis star has gone to great lengths to achieve her bucket list and now, her dreams have come to life. The young talent is all set to create history at the Paris Olympics. She is officially the first tennis player and the youngest to be Team USA’s flag bearer at the quadrennial event. To much excitement, she will be joined by basketball great LeBron James who will be the male flag bearer.

Subsequently, Tracy Austin recently revealed the actuation behind Gauff’s selection as the nation’s flag bearer at the Games. While talking on the ‘Tennis Channel Live Podcast‘, the former World No. 1 disclosed that the 20-year-old became the flag bearer after 600 American athletes voted in her favor.

Moreover, she sang praises of Gauff acknowledging her flag bearer position with the likes of LeBron, who is one of the most decorated athletes in the nation. This, by far, shows the amount of goodwill and respect the reigning US Open has gained from the sporting world. “What’s special to me about this is that this was voted on by 600 athletes from the United States. That means that they really respect everything that Coco does, not only as an athlete but the way that she conducts herself. Congratulations Coco, what a moment. To share that with LeBron, (whoops) out of this world.”
