Coco Gauff claps back—Is she right to defend herself against online trolls?

Reigning US Open champion Coco Gauff is not in a mood to deal with any shitty sarcasm. Being a debutante in the Paris Olympics, Gauff received a great honor as one of her country’s flag bearers. While she received many compliments, her take on Olympic management fell under the wrath of people. While Gauff faced sarcastic criticism, she responded showing who the ultimate queen is!

Gauff recently shared a glimpse of the Olympic village on her TikTok profile. There she dropped a reel that began with a caption, “10 girls, two bathrooms. #olympicvillage.” Gauff’s video also showed how girls were waiting to access the washroom since there were more participants for the two bathrooms. However, this 20-year-old WTA star had no bad intentions and she simply made the reel with a hilarious mindset.

While, Gauff’s expression at the beginning clearly expressed her fun-loving attitude, one of her followers spotted taking it personally. This follower directly questioned Gauff, “you want 10 bathrooms?” However, the American WTA star didn’t hold it back and responded saying, “it’s a joke. just take it.” Before Gauff, Australian WTA star Daria Saville highlighted the fact that athletes have to resort to buying everyday essentials, like toilet paper, from a local shop.

In a post on her Instagram account on Tuesday, Saville showed off her adventures to collect toilet paper for her and her roommates. “Hello, can I please get more toilet paper,” Saville is heard saying to the shopkeeper before being asked how many she requires. “Can I have three rolls, there’s four of us girls,” she says as she laughs before walking out with the goods in hand. While Saville shared her laundry woes, her bed-testing antics stole the show.

Saville praised the facility showing the beds’ customization facilities with different mattresses with extendable frames to suit the athlete’s size. NBC News reported that the Paris Olympics committee built the rooms without air conditioning to promote sustainability but some athletes might have brought their portable air cooling systems. While Gauff showed only a part of the village, Filipino American gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar shared a video on Instagram, where people spotted beauty salons in the village. Athletes can avail of complimentary nail and hair services in those salons.
