After securing her win, Pegula stood in the court answering some of the questions in the post-match interview. While she was asked about her win, one question came out of nowhere from the interviewer. She asked about the support the American would receive in the finals.
Responding to this, Pegula cheekily said that she is pretty confident of receiving support from the fans. She said that since she was born on the border of Canada and is a Buffalo Bills fan since her childhood, this gives her the validation of receiving massive fan support in the finals.
“I hope so. I don’t know, what do you guys think? Being born in Buffalo, I’m right on the border of Canada. So I feel like you guys are also my fans,” said Pegula in the interview.

Jessica Pegula, in another interview, revealed why she prefers playing doubles and singles in any tournament. She said that playing in both categories gives her another chance of coming closer to the title should she fail to perform in anyone.
Thus, the burden is lessened and she enjoys having a good time in the courts. Interestingly, she and Coco Gauff have formed one of the most formidable duos in tennis. The pair has gone down to win significant WTA titles and the hunger to want more never dies in them. However, speaking about the Canadian Open, the pair had to withdraw in the quarter-finals after Jessica cited problems in her back.
Thus, Jessica’s journey in the Canadian Open has been no short of a sensation. With just one step closer to victory, she would be willing to gather all her support to get the much-needed confidence while playing in the final.
