Recently, a massive update dropped about her case that led to her former coach issuing a strong statement. Halep, who was looking to make a comeback at the US Open, saw her plans spoilt as there was a further delay in the result of her case. Talking about Halep’s case, Cahill said, “Another delay. The details of this case will eventually come to light but regardless of the outcome, this process has been handled appallingly by the ITF and ITIA. Zero care or concern for the athlete or her well-being with this case dragging on for nearly 12 months and still no judgment or resolution.”

Further, he also added that at the moment Halep can neither focus on tennis nor her life with the decision yet to come about her case. Additionally, he also appealed to the likes of the WTA and player council to protect the players better.

With the recent update, Halep has been completely dejected. Nonetheless, she did not give up hope of returning.
