When Williams took down Anett Kontaveit, the former world no. 2 was left in tears. Kontaveit, however, found respite in the fact that Hollywood icon, Zendaya, had come to watch the match. Now as the -year-old Estonian player closes a crucial chapter in her life, some con-incidences make us look back to that interaction.

Anett Kontaveit turned out to be a huge fan of Zendaya. So, even if the renowned American actress rooted for Serena Williams, she left a sweet tribute to Kontaveit.

Though it broke Kontaveit’s heart, she was glad to see Zendaya on the courtside. Eventually, after she expressed her love for Zendaya, the American actress started following her on Instagram.

Now after that incident, a planned or unplanned co-incidence has come into the picture.

Anett Kontaveit announced her retirement from professional tennis after she revealed her injuries are making her unable to pursue it.

On the same day, Zendaya released the trailer of her upcoming tennis movie, Challengers which will be released on the 15th of September.
