Emma Raducanu may be only 20 years old, but the British tennis beauty has seen it all in her tennis career. In her maiden Grand Slam main draw appearance, the tennis sensation reached the fourth round of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. Subsequently, she stunned one and all when she clinched the biggest victory of her tennis career. Raducanu defeated Leylah Fernandez to win the 2021 US Open. It was a dream-come-true moment for the youngster on tennis’ biggest stage. However, since then, her career has suffered a downfall.
Since her maiden Grand Slam title victory, Raducanu hasn’t had a consistent run in the tournaments. Additionally, she hasn’t been able to move beyond the second round of the major tournaments. She has invited the wrath of her fans with her not-so-inspiring performances. Amidst this, the 20-year-old has received massive support from American tennis legend, Billie Jean King.

The 79-year-old tennis icon is active in the tennis world and is often seen attending events across the globe. Recently, she took to Twitter to back Raducanu after the British star has been getting a lot of criticism.
Billie feels that it has become tough for the former US Open champion after coming into the limelight with a stunning major victory. Giving a piece of advice to her, she said, “I just know it’s gotten tough for her, I just hope that she’ll be alright bc it’s tough.. You’ve got to learn not to listen to criticism… & if people are bullying you on social media, you’ve got to stop looking at it. It’s really important.”

Raducanu’s 2023 season
The 20-year-old has had a disastrous year on the court. She has suffered early exits from the tournaments this year. Additionally, Raducanu has been away from action since April, missing the French Open and Wimbledon Championships amongst other tournaments. Her best result in 2023 has been only a fourth-round appearance at the BNP Paribas Open.
