Emma Raducanu, the rising tennis star who captured the world’s attention as a young formidable talent, has received a coaching offer from none other than Rick Macci, the coach who had a hand in shaping future tennis legends like the Williams sisters. Macci, who is also known for his work with numerous tennis prodigies, including the likes of Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova, believes that Raducanu’s immense talent and young age make her a prime candidate for continued success.

“Anybody who goes through qualifying and wins a Grand Slam, you’re a very unique, talented individual, not just with your game, technically or strategically, but mentally, okay. You got to have something different mentally, that’s greatness there,” Macci remarked according to his exclusive interview with FirstSportz.

Raducanu has made changes to her coaching team since her US Open victory, most recently parting ways with Sebastian Sachs, has previously worked with several respected figures in the tennis world.

Macci believes that Raducanu’s rise to the top of the tennis world was not a stroke of luck but a testament to her talent and dedication. He expressed a keen interest in understanding how she was coping with her newfound success, noting the dramatic changes in her life and the pressures that accompany such achievements.

“Now, in the blink of an eye, you go from that to having all these opportunities and millions of dollars and everybody treats you differently. Everything around you has changed but you’re still a competitor and there’s a tennis ball and a racket, and a net and it’s all about the competition,” he added thoughtfully.
