Martina Navratilova talked about playing for Wimbledon out of sheer love and nothing else. She condemned the take of players like Naomi Osaka, who have shown reservation against playing Wimbledon because the ATP and WTA have stripped it of its ranking points. She said, “I could care less that there were no points given because I always played for the trophies, not the points, not the money.” Former world no. 1 expressed her love for the grass-court major and said, “So, for me, it’s Wimbledon and nothing else, and everything else came in second. This is not an exhibition.”
