Serena Williams‘ daughter Olympia is growing up fast—time really does fly. Williams gave birth to Olympia in 2017, and two months later she married Ohanian. After taking some time away from the sport to recover, Williams returned in March 2018, making it all the way to the Wimbledon and US Open singles finals. Since then, Serena Williams has expanded her family with the birth of Adira River Ohanian in August 2023, joining her beloved daughter Olympia. On September 1, 2024, Olympia turned seven years old. The family marked the occasion with a special celebration in New York.

On social media, Serena and her spouse, Alexis, regularly post glimpses into their kids’ lives. In the September 3 post, Alexis shared heartwarming photos of their father-daughter relationship on X along with a lovely statement for Olympia on her seventh birthday.

He wrote, “Beautiful weekend with our SEVEN-year-old Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. 🥹 My heart is full. We got to celebrate the final days of being six in Papa’s birthplace. 🗽 @olympiaohanian your mama and I love you more with every passing year. My life changed September 1, 2017 🙏 thank you.”

In a separate X post from September 2, Alexis shared a sweet birthday tradition for Olympia, revealing that he treated her with her favorite bagels in New York City. He wrote, “I make sure my birthday girl gets her favorite bagel in NYC.” 

Alexis Ohanian, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, was the only child of his Armenian father, Chris, and German-born mother, Anke. As a native New Yorker, Ohanian’s celebration of his daughter’s 7th birthday touched many hearts. And his gratitude knew no bounds.

On the same day, Ohanian came up with another X post, reflecting on “Fatherhood”. “Tried to give this girl the best weekend ever! September 1, 2017 changed My Life. Fatherhood gets better ever year. I love my new SEVEN year old. You somehow keep getting better and better, Jr. Thanks @ChristinaTosi for an awesome cake session as usual. Also the Back to the Future Musical was really good.” In addition, even the 23-time Grand Slam champion celebrated her daughter in a heartfelt post.

While Serena Williams doesn’t celebrate birthdays due to her faith as a Jehovah’s Witness, a couple of weeks ago, the tennis star took a moment to celebrate both her daughters in a heartfelt post on Instagram. On the other hand, in the same post, she also talked about how Olympia has always been there for her.

She wrote, “Olympia is always there for me. Before having a second child, I always wondered, ‘How could I love anything as much as I love Olympia Ohanian?’ Then Adira came along… She is so special, so fun, so funny, so loving, so sweet, and so strong!!! You see, God makes your heart get bigger. Because my love for Olympia has not dimmed. My heart simply now is doubled in size, and I have a greater capacity to love more!”
