Among the most notable personalities in the crowd were her husband Alexis and her five-year-old daughter Olympia. Recently, Alexis Ohanian expressed his thoughts about Williams’ aura at the US Open, which came to an end earlier this month.

Serena’s husband Alexis Ohanian shares his part of the US Open experience

For Serena’s last few matches, fans thronged the stadium to support their favorite player for one last time, which was a tremendous gesture for her. Her husband, Alexis Ohanian, had the most amazing experience of seeing the crowd. Not just long ago, he shared his part of the experience at the US Open in an interview with ESPN.

Ohanian talked about his wife’s last outing on a tennis court as a professional player at the US Open. He said, “There’s a vibe to it. There’s energy because you had such an emotional moment, every single night that Serena was playing so many people tuned in you could feel the energy of everyone watching, not just filling the Arthur Ashe, but‌ everyone watching.”

What she has done for the people was clearly seen by the people’s affection and the way they cheered their legend. Ohanian recalled this and said, “Yes, and it was like boiling up during every, uh every point because you’d be forced in silence and so the moment that people got a chance to cheer, they cheered and it was unlike anything. I’ve been to a lot of amazing sporting events. Yeah, it was unlike anything I’ve been to.”

Serena Williams’ match broke the all time attendance record

The 6-time US Open champion’s opening match was a jam-packed event. A total of 29,402 spectators came to see the American legend play in her last tournament. The opening night match recorded the highest all time attendance for any night session. It was one of the biggest crowd ever witnessed at an evening event at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
