Chris Evert has the experience of 18 Grand Slam titles under her name. And now as Gauff continues to expand her influence in the WTA realm, she is taking the advice of someone who has seen it all. However, this mentor-mentee relationship has been budding for quite some time since the two have worked for Rolex.
In a joint interview with Vogue, Gauff and Evert talked about their relationship. Evert stated, “I think Coco, and I were always aware of each other. We first met at the Evert Tennis Academy—she was one of the leading players in her age group.”
However, Gauff did not take a second to hilariously correct Evert as she said, “I was 12 years old. You had no clue who I was.” To this, Evert could not help but confess with a laugh. She stated, “I mean… I was meeting a lot of 12-year-olds!”
However, she continued to shed light upon on how Evert already had a strong support system. She stated, “There was really no need for me to bu** in and say, ‘Well, Coco, this is what I think you should be doing.'”
Nonetheless, Evert enthusiastically helped Gauff when she came asking for support. Furthermore, there have been retired players and veteran coaches who have shown a willingness to help Gauff.

That is why, other players or coaches have continued to express their concern for the young players. One legendary coach who has always supported Gauff is the former coach of Venus and Serena Williams, Rick Macci.
He even proposed to help Gauff solidify her form and even win a Grand Slam title.
