Simona Halep is under suspension as of October 2022 by the International Tennis Integrity Agency. As she hasn’t disproved the accusations of doping, she was not able to participate in the Australian Open 2023. Meanwhile, Halep’s fans and some tennis icons alike have been praying for a grand comeback of the Romanian star. Although not much is heard from the former no.1, a tennis legend recently posted her concerns about Halep on Twitter.
Chris Evert took to Twitter to talk about what’s on her mind. And it’s none other than Simona Halep. Earlier, Evert had openly come out as a Simona fan and gone so far as to compare her with Rafael Nadal. Therefore, it is not surprising that she is sending out good wishes for Halep. Her tweet, however, has received mixed reactions from tennis fans.

A few hours ago, Chris Evert took to Twitter to post about an issue that was not the first thing on most of our minds with the recent Australian Open hubbubs. She tweeted saying that she was thinking of Simona Halep. The tennis legend and presenter hopes that Halep is doing well and that the doping issue will be resolved quickly.
She tweeted, “Thinking about @Simona_Halep hope she’s doing well… I hope this gets resolved soon…”

Evert’s decision to stand by Halep’s claim of innocence is no surprise, considering how she is extremely bold and isn’t shy to stand out with her opinions.
Although the ITIA found evidence of Roxadustat in her sample, Evert is in support of Halep. Evert also supported Halep when the latter decided to fire her coaches and not look for a replacement.
Evert’s admiration for Simona is highly respected by the Romanian star’s fans. As Simona still does not know if she will be coming back on the court in 2023, Evert’s words of kindness and hope must really cheer her up.
Fans aren’t going all nice on Evert’s tweet of Halep
Meanwhile, tennis enthusiasts on Twitter are dividing themselves in a rift. One-half of them support Halep and wish that she makes a strong comeback. The other half is strongly against her and believes that the doping ban is legit.
A fan posted a GIF with Halep making a heart at Chrissie’s comment.

Others have pointed out how Evert is supporting Halep, although the latter is clearly in the wrong, in their opinion.
No offense but minding your own business can also be a virtue.
