Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian, has many traits that his daughter Olympia enjoys. Be it their pancake-making sessions or their innovative bedtime storytelling, Ohanian has set high standards for parents out there. However, on his talk show, Ohanian reveals a side to him that Olympia has “to deal with” while “Papa’s doing bedtimes.” 

In a parenting conversation with Roman Mars on his podcast Business Dad, Mars, and Ohanian touched upon the topic of bedtime stories. While Mars recalled how much he loves to tell bedtime stories to his kids, he also responded to Ohanian’s question about doing voices. “Yeah, I do. They hated them though,” said Mars. Ohanian spoke in solidarity, “Like Olympia hates when I do voices. But I’m like, you would have to deal with this Papa’s doing bedtimes, you got to indulge me.” 

Ohanian loves annoying his daughter as “Bedtime story is my absolute favorite”. However, the Reddit co-founder’s enthusiasm didn’t end there, as he added that he likes to do entertaining voice-to-face conversations to make the storytelling session more fun and interactive for Olympia. Last year in October, Ohanian shared a video of the adorable father-daughter duo cuddling on the bed.

“OK, it’s page three-oh-four,” said Olympia in the clip helping her father flip the page to go to the next part. Ohanian enthusiastically asked Olympia whether she wanted him to do voices while reading. Interestingly, Olympia responded, “yes!” with an adorable smile on her face. However, this devoted father had only one wish, which was for Olympia to play the character of Snow White.  After that, Ohanian went on to read Snow White and Rose Red in his British accent.

Olympia and her businessman father’s heartwarming interactions show Ohanian is a present father. As we get more stories of their bedtime traditions inspired many, the Reddit co-founder revealed his creative talent in rearing his daughter.

Last year, Fatherly.com shared how the husband of Serena Williams came up with stories for his daughter Olympia, showing how he merged his technical knowledge with fatherhood. In ‘Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?’ Ohanian spoke about using AI to get narratives for Olympia.

“And so the way we do bedtime stories is actually by prompting Chat GPT and saying, you know, I’ll ask Chat GPT to give me a bedtime story appropriate for a 6-year-old, that will take 10 minutes to read,” said Ohanian. This Reddit co-founder further revealed how he asks Olympia for prompts and then the Chat GPT delivers them a story.

“It’s like Mad Libs, she says, ‘Oh, three sisters,’ and I’m like, ‘OK, three sisters.’ What are their names? She told me their names, their ages. And then they have special pets. … She’s basically dictating the prompt for the AI. And then we hit enter, and we watch it come out,” he says. “I print it out, and I read it to her at bedtime,” revealed Serena Williams’ husband.

Alexis Ohanian’s recent revelations about Olympia’s preferences represent that their baby girl is growing up fast as she understands the use of AI with her father. More than that, it allows people to see Alexis Ohanian’s extreme dedication to keeping his family happy.
