The Pole has been the target of haters in the ongoing Cincinnati Masters, too. She talked about it after her win against Quinwen Zheng. Addressing this issue, Ons Jabeur was asked if she ever faced such issues and her reply revealed volumes.

The Tunisian reached the quarter-finals at Ohio, as Donna Vekic walked out of the match due to an injury. The scorecard read in the favor of Jabeur, 5-2 when Vekic exited the tournament. In the post-match conference, a reporter asked Jabeur what she had to say about the WTA 1st seed receiving hate comments.
The 28-year-old said that she too receives such comments. She stated, “I’m glad that Iga is talking about it. Honestly, I mean, you win, you lose, you get hate messages no matter what you do. We need more nicer people in this earth, but I don’t think you can change the mentality of some betters.”
After her win against Zheng, the Pole said that she faced online abuse though won the match. The 4 times Slam champion dropped a set, and Swiatek stated this as the reason for abuse. She won, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the quarter-finals. Besides supporting Swiatek, Jabeur also disclosed the reason behind all the hate.

The WTA 5th seed slammed betters that they are so jobless apart from targeting players. She said, “They have nothing to do in their life, and they are just spending money on you, and probably, what, they lost a couple of bucks on Iga losing a set.”?The haters go wild whenever Swiatek loses.
The two times Roland Garros champion said that it feels bad when people only focus on her losses. She revealed that she and her team worked so hard to reach this level and she tries her best to focus on the positives amidst the hate she receives. The Pole encouraged the netizens, too, to do the same as it is not easy to stay physically and mentally strong at all times.
Swiatek will play Wimbledon Championships winner Marketa Vodrousova in the quarter-final. Jabeur will take on the Australian Open champion Aryna Sabalenka in her quarter-final match tomorrow.
